“Eloise Kim to compete in the New York Piano Competition”

Eloise Kim, a sophomore at Beaverton’s Valley Catholic High School, has qualified to compete in the New York Piano Competition this summer. The competition is one of the preeminent competitions for young adults ages 14 to 18, and this year Eloise is one of only 22 individuals invited to compete.”
The New York Piano Competition, held June 22 through 27 and presented by the Stecher and Horowitz Foundation, is dedicated to providing artistic development and educational enhancement to young students. The competition has a policy of no elimination, which allows each contestant to compete in all rounds and increases the number of performances and opportunities to be judged by the competition’s distinguished jury.
Ms. Kim made her Carnegie HaIl debut in 2003, and has garnered many performance awards. She has performed with the Vancouver Symphony and the Columbia Symphony, and was recently selected as a recipient of the Chopin Foundation of the United States scholarship and as a Chamber Music Northwest Young Artist fellow.
